Excerpt from USPR's statement on the Ghent's demonstration in support of hunger strikers : 

Friday July 9 2021, a large demonstration in support of the 475 hunger strikers took place in Ghent, showing that Flanders is also sensitive to the situation of sans-papiers in Belgium. The government's silence on the regularization of undocumented migrants is now becoming untenable and the blockages maintained by the far-right parties in Belgium must be lifted. These people are workers in Belgium fultilling essential functions ins our society for 5, 10 or even 30 years... but without access to rights. Belgium can no longer ignore their reality.
